MATCH PREVIEW: Millonarios v Independiente Santa Fe (ESPN Cup)

Millonarios, under Alberto Gamero’s management, has started positively. He played for Millonarios in the last 80s to the early 90s, and people of that generation saw him and continues to see him as an idol. This same Alberto Gamero that helped Boyaca Chico and Deportes Tolima win some titles as a manager. Tonight, it’s his first important exam, beating Independiente Santa Fe. Since winning the 2017-II league title, the Ambassadors have not been able to overcome their city rival.

Alberto Gamero, in the past month, has made some changes in the squad. Nine players have left the team, and seven players have joined the club. Diego Armando Godoy is currently in Bogota, and within the next few hours, he will be announced as the eighth signing of the season. Millonarios is looking for players in the market to fill in the remaining two spots; a left CB and a DM.

The new manager, Alberto Gamero, has already placed a couple of new signings in the starting lineup against America de Cali. It’s no secret that he may include these new players again in the starting lineup for tonight’s game. The fans want to see more of the new signings and see what they are capable of on the field. In the previous, we were able to see that Elvis Perlaza can defend and attack well. Luciano Ospina and Juan Pablo Vargas make a good partnership, and with time, they can improve and provide more security in the back. Juan Carlos Pereira showed some excellent passes and kept trying to move the ball forward. Ayron del Valle scored his first goal back with Millonarios, and the team looked better when Ayron had the control of the ball.
